ADULT  CHRISTIAN  EDUCATION

In the Spring of 2006 an Adult Christian Education Committee was established as one of the sub committees of the Markus Project. The Committee is charged with the planning and development of short term educational programs for interested parishioners.

The first event organized by the Committee was a family movie night in the Parish Hall, attended by some 40 parishioners. Movie nights, with an opportunity for discussion following the film, will be repeated from time to time.

The second program planned by the committee goes by the name "The Markus Book Club." The Rector picks a suitable book for attendees to read and participate in weekly evening discussion groups. The first book, "The Dream Giver," was the subject of five weekly meetings, ending November 29th, with 12 participants.

We plan to continue meeting in Advent, beginning on Thursday 14 December, with a new book "Adam:God's Beloved" by Henri Nouwen.  We would welcome any newcomers to the Markus Book Club.

The present members of the Adult Christian Education Committee are Mark Charlton, Shawna French, Carolynne Mastellotto, Holly Perrault, Kathy Wight and myself as Chair.
