Have you had the pleasure of enjoying a St. Mark’s by-the-Lake Meat pie? If you have, you probably count it among your grocery staples every month. If you have not – you are in for a treat when you do. These pies are great!   In our parish a Holy Roller is not a bible-thumping fundamentalist but a pastry rolling sweetie!

Presently there are 22 ladies and gentlemen who cook meat, make pastry and cook meat pies on the first Monday of each month from September until May. There is always a great deal of fun and banter in the midst of the hard work and each session is followed with a luncheon. We make 24 large pies every month along with 20 medium and 200 small pies as they are the number one seller. These pies sell out each and every month.

Once in a while we even make some apple pies!
